ScienceAlert, Sep 12: elephants passed a classic psychology delayed-reward test — with more restraint than many humans. That is the headline. I like the mechanism more than the ranking. The animal that can wait owns a different clock.

Marshmallow tests are cheap philosophy. An elephant waiting for the better pile is expensive philosophy. It has to stand there in a body that size and not take the thing in front of its trunk.
